Work Snackin’ and Lunchin’
TAT | July 6, 2008Just out of curiosity I wanna ask! How many of you snack and lunch at work. If you do do you bring your own food? Or do you order out?
You see right now I’m all into healthy living. Thought about going vegan but too much work and preparation for me. Besides TAT loves the juicy steak no sexual pun intended. You see from my Dad’s side of the family there is a chance I’ll get high blood pressure. From my Mom’s side low blood pressure. In my case lets hope they balance out lol. Also I’m trying to lose a bit of weight around the midsection and get leaner muscles, higher stamina and endurance and I might run a marathon and not break a sweat.
So for those of you who bring food to the workplace. What do you use to keep it warm or transport it with. Tupperware or have you tried the bento? Also if you don’t mind what kind of food do you usually bring. Got any good recipes to whip something out in a hurry?
And those of you who order out. What restaurants offer a healthier sampling. What would you recommend?
Right now I don’t snack or lunch at work though I should so I’m looking into options. So your help would be appreciated looking forward to see what genius ideas everyone has ![]()

MiYaFuSHi | July 6, 2008I used to order the healthy options and salads from casper and gambini. I also order from Lo-fat.
And for snacks I would take some dates in a tupperware, and munch on some with nescafe. Sometimes a banana or a KDD juice or drink. Or nuts.

I used to order salads if I wanted to eat right, and you can get that from anywhere you want.
Lo-Fat’s food is good but it takes them forever to deliver, and they have delivered the wrong order in the past.

N. | July 7, 2008When I used to go to the gym, I had a Kuwaiti Bento from the 1950s/60s, it stacks up, and looks more or less something like this - http://www.uncrate.com/men/gear/travel-luggage/tiffin-lunch-box-set/
Now, mostly we order at work. There’s panini as greyshorts said, also vgarden and such. I like the ceaser salads so I look for that when I order as well.
I don’t order much now at all. If you want you could also just get an edible power bar for sustenance until you go home and have real lunch. I tried them all, now, I just don’t eat at work, just drink lots of tea.
Oh, and I make my own tea at home.. I
N. | July 7, 2008Oh, and I make my own tea at home.. I have a collection of different teas.. actually went with G to the store in Marina to get some. It sure beats the office tea.

L's Brain | July 7, 2008I don’t know about work hmm. But do they sell flapjacks or Granola bars in Kuwait? Maybe sultan center? If yes, take some with you to work! yummy, very healthy and fill the stomach! My favorite are the honey flavored ones. I hope you stick to the plan! Instead of red tea drink Green Tea!
without sugar. You’ll get used to it .. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Nada Faris | July 8, 2008do you have a tiny fridge (or a fridge of any size XD) in your office?
Well there's the cereal bars which contains around 100 calories
Zabo0o6a | July 8, 2008Well there’s the cereal bars which contains around 100 calories . easy to eat , no mess.
If you like bran rusk with a slice of cheese , that’s handy.
Assorted raw nuts *Almonds in specific , 7 calories each*
Dates in a tapperware.
Or you can order raw veggie sticks from lots of diners around

I'd just make my own salad in the morning and
Fiend | July 14, 2008I’d just make my own salad in the morning and let it marinade in vinegar (i love vinegar). Or a plastic bag of chopped veggies (i’d chop it all up the night before) and a small tupperware of low fat or fat free ranch dressing or nonfat yogurt with mint pieces and salt. Or if all else fails a reduced fat peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Ordering out you dont quite know the calorie content (since you want to lose weight) and even lo fat can be misleading as to what you want to achieve and how fast you want to reach your weight loss goal. Or lastly.. I used to buy a 1 liter skimmed kdcow milk carton and drink it
